Winter Series + Warwick Frostbite

Race day 3 of the Winter Series is happening this Sunday at SYC. First warning signal is scheduled for 13:30hrs. If you are able to assist on the start and rescue boats, your assistance will be appreciated.
The last race day of the Winter Series we had 6 boats rig up for racing including a 505 and a single handed Topaz. Unfortunately 1 boat boat didn’t make it off the ramp. 2 Windward races were conducted in variable westerly conditions. The first race of the day was more stable than the second – boats only 30 metres separated were experiencing large differences in breeze.
Last week, our friends at Warwick Sailing Club held the annual Frostbite Regatta. Reports are that it was cold……. VERY cold! Saturday morning there was ice on tents and cars! The fleet was made up of Flying Fifteens, Wetas, Hobies, RL24 and a Status and brought sailors from Tin Can Bay, Brisbane and the Darling Downs. Peter Shaw and young Jonah Sayer from Tin Can Bay YC won the event.
Some feedback from Graham Lee – “It was a wonderful weekend with a great group of people, brilliant camping site and facilities. Two of the Warwick Club members played fabulous Sea shanty music for us well into Saturday evening! Just, when going, double your quota of winter clothing and bedding!!”

Is that snow on those hills?!!
