King of Bramble Bay

This weekend saw the return of the King of Bramble Bay, with sailors tackling a mix of challenging and rewarding conditions.

Saturday’s long course tested crews in a stiff 15–20 knot NNE breeze and large swell. The fleet worked hard upwind to Otter Rock off Woody Point before enjoying a fast run back to Nudgee Creek near the airport.

Sunday’s racing brought a lighter WNW breeze and calmer seas, allowing for three competitive Windward/Leeward races.

Congratulations to Neil Lestor and Darryl Harvey, crowned this year’s Kings of Bramble Bay!

A special mention goes to Ollie Watson, skippering a Corsair with a young crew. Ollie successfully completed all three Sunday races and even set spinnakers—an impressive effort.
